217 S Weber Street sits a block east of Tejon Street in the downtown core of Colorado Springs. Acacia Park is two blocks north, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum is a short walk south, and Monument Valley Park runs along Monument Creek a few blocks west. Pikes Peak rises on the western horizon. Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs are eight to ten minutes by car.

West toward the mountains.

Old Colorado City is the original 1859 settlement, eight minutes west on Colorado Avenue. Independent shops, restaurants, and a walkable historic stretch make it a regular weekend trip from Avian.

Manitou Springs sits at the foot of Pikes Peak, twelve minutes west. Mineral springs, the cog railway, and the trailhead for the Manitou Incline. From the rooftop on a clear morning you can see the peak that rises above town.

Garden of the Gods, fifteen minutes northwest, is the red-sandstone park most visitors photograph. Free admission, open year round.
